Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 17, 2026 · This policy explains what 101PD ("101 Professional Development"), based in Los Angeles, California, collects when you use 101pd.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. Short version: we collect what the service needs to teach you, certify you, and (where required) report your completion to your regulator — and nothing is sold to anyone.
1. What we collect
- Account information. Name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), and — for continuing-education products that require it — the professional identity your certificate and regulator reporting need (for example, a license or bar number).
- Learning activity. Course progress, quiz and exam attempts, scores, attestations of study time, and certificates issued. This is the core record of your completion and is what regulators may audit.
- Purchases. Order history (product, amount, date, status — including $0 promotional orders). Payment card details are collected and processed by Stripe, not by us; we never see or store your card number.
- Communications. Messages you send us and transactional email we send you (we log sends for reliability).
- Technical data. Standard server logs and error diagnostics. Our analytics are privacy-focused and cookieless where deployed; we do not run advertising trackers.
2. How we use information
To provide and improve courses; to generate certificates in your name; to report completions to regulators where the product requires it and you enroll for that purpose; to process payments and refunds; to send transactional email (verification, receipts, certificates); to secure the service; and to comply with legal and regulator record-keeping obligations.
3. What we share — and what we never do
We share information only with: regulators and licensing bodies (completion reporting and audits, where the product requires it); service providers acting for us (Stripe for payments, Amazon Web Services for hosting, storage, and email delivery, and our error-monitoring and analytics providers); and authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We show no third-party ads.
4. Retention
Completion records and issued certificates are retained for the period required by the applicable regulator (these periods vary by profession) and as needed for audits. Account and order records are retained while your account is active and thereafter as required for legal, tax, and regulator purposes. You may request deletion (see the California rights section); records a regulator requires us to keep are exempt from deletion for the required period.
5. Security
Passwords are hashed with a modern algorithm (Argon2id); course files are delivered through signed, expiring URLs; access to production data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we design so that a breach exposes as little as possible — most notably, card data never touches our systems.
6. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; delete information (subject to the regulator-record exception above); and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising, there is nothing to opt out of — if that ever changed, we would provide the required "Do Not Sell or Share" mechanism first. To exercise any right, use the contact form or email support@101pd.com with the subject "Privacy request." We will verify your identity against your account and respond within the period the law provides. You may use an authorized agent; we will require proof of authorization.
7. Children
101PD is not directed to children. Free study materials (for example, driver-permit preparation) may be read without an account, including by minors preparing for licensure with a parent or guardian's knowledge. Accounts and purchases are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes
We will post any changes here with a new effective date, and note material changes prominently.
